06/30/05           TOWN CHAMPIONS! The Phillies, after losing game one 13-9, came back to defeat the Sidewinders 10-3 and 4-1 to win the 2005 Arlington Little League AAA Town Championship. The winning hit came in the bottom of the fifth inning, a double down the right field line by Ryan Breen. It broke the 1-1 tie and was all that starting pitcher Adam Grill would need. Adam allowed just one run on three hits and one hit batter, striking out eleven and getting key defensive plays from infielders Peter Girard, Matt Wah, J.T. Nichols, and Hunter Fogarty. A full account of the Phillies first ever Town Championship win will be available this weekend. Select PICTURES on the menu for pictures from Game Three and the post game celebration. Thanks to all the parents, friends, and relatives who supported the team all year long. The roar of the crowd was so loud during the sixth inning of game three, I couldn't even hear the calls from the umpire. GO PHILLIES!

06/24/05           National League Champions! The Phillies swept the Braves with a second straight 6-5 win tonight. They await the winner of the Sidewinders vs. 51's series that will conclude with a decisive game three Saturday night at 5:00 at Scannell Field. For tonight's game, J.T. Nichols was named Player of the Game. J.T. picked up the win going six innings, allowing five runs on seven hits and seven walks while striking out five. At the plate, J.T. drew a walk in three trips, but it drove in the tying run in the second inning.

06/19/05           Sweep! The Phillies swept the Cubs in the first round of the Playoffs with a 18-2 win. The Phillies will play the winner of the River Cats vs. Braves series in the National League Championship Series.

06/18/05           The playoffs got underway tongiht, as the Phillies pulled out a close game 13-11 over the Cubs. Sunday's game is scheduled for Hurd Field at 5:00pm.

06/15/05           A skelton crew of Phillies defeated the Storm 8-4 tonight to clinch First Place in the National League.

06/11/05           The Phillies defeated the Lynx tonight, 26-7. The Phillies awarded Game Balls to Misha Lavrentyev and Peter Girard. Misha made a great play in center field that led to an out. Misha also came in to pitch in the fifth inning and struck out two. Peter was 1 for 2 with a home run, four walks, four runs scored, and five runs batted in. Niko Stavropoulos was named Player of the Game. Niko was 3 for 4 with two doubles and a triple, two walks, four runs scored and six runs batted in.

06/07/05           The Phillies improved to 13-2-1 on the season, retaking first place in the National League with a 5-1 victory over the Pirates.

06/05/05           The Phillies defeated the Giants today, 15-3. This was a big win for the Phillies. The Phillies have now clinched a playoff spot for the ninth season in a row, and eleventh time in twelve years. Game Balls were awarded to Hunter Fogarty and Jackson Miller. Hunter was 1 for 2 with a double, two walks, stolen base, two runs scored, and one run batted in. Hunter also made three unassisted plays at first base. Jackson was 1 for 1 with a triple and a walk, and two runs batted in. Niko Stavropoulos was named Player of the Game. Niko was 3 for 4 with a double, triple, and home run. Niko scored twice, stole a base, and drove in seven runs. Niko also picked up the save, going three innings, striking out eight and allowing just one run on one hit, three walks, and two hit batsmen.

06/03/05           The Phillies dropped a tough game to the Dodgers tonight, 21-11.

06/01/05           The Phillies kicked off the month of June by returning to their winning ways, defeating the Pirates, 21-8. Hunter Fogarty was named Player of the Game. Hunter was 4 for 4 with a double. He was hit by a pitch, scored two runs, stole a base, and drove in six runs.

05/30/05           The Phillies narrowly held on to first place with a 7-7 tie with the River Cats. J.T. Niichols and Ivan Lavrentyev were awarded Game Balls, and Peter Girard was named Player of the Game.

05/28/05           The Phillies winning streak came to and end on Saturday as the Sidewinders defeated our Phillies 9-5. J.T. Nichols was named Player of the Game. J.T. walked twice and was hit by a pitch in three at bats, stole three bases, and scored two of the Phillies runs.

05/26/05           Our makeup on Saturday morning will be against the Sidewinders, not the Storm, and will be starting at 9:00 instead of 9:30.

05/22/05           The Phillies won their 10th straight game tonight, with a come from behind 8-7 victory over the Cubs. At 10-0, the Phillies are off to their best start ever, reaching the half way point of the season undefeated. Anthony Senesi was named Player of the Game.

05/20/05           The Phillies will have a practice from 3:00-5:00 at Bishop on Saturday, 5/21. Tentatively, our makeup game with the Storm will be 5/28 at 9:30 A.M. at Buzzell II. This is tentative, as the Storm have yet to confirm.

05/17/05           The Phillies won their 9th game, 26-1 over the Marlins. Peter Girard and Matt Wah were awarded Game Balls, and Matt Wah was named Player of the Game.

05/15/05           For the 8th game in a row, the Phillies came out on top, defeating the Brewers 17-3. Adam Grill and J.T. Nichols were awarded Game Balls, and Adam Grill was named Player of the Game.

05/14/05           The Phillies won their second game in as many days, and 7th overall, defeating the Braves 15-7 in thrilling fashion, coming back from a 5-0 defeceit after 3 and a half innings. Game Balls were awarded to Matt Kapilian and Ryan Breen, and Niko Stavropoulos was named Player of the Game.

05/13/05           The Phillies continued their winning ways on Friday with a 27-2 victory over the Storm, maintaining sole possession of First Place in the National League. The Phillies are the last undefeated team in AAA, for the third season in a row. Although the forecast is for rain, we hope to get our makeup with the Braves in on Saturday.

05/11/05           I have confirmed our Make Up game with the Braves for this Saturday at 3:00pm at Bishop Field. I am sorry, I know a couple of players can't make it, but we have enough to play (8 are required), and have to get the game in. Please arrive at 2:15. I know a couple of people said they'd make the game, but not early, that's fine, but please call me on my cell if you think you won't make it by 3:00pm. We still have our regularly scheduled games on Friday and Sunday, so we'll have a lot of Baseball this weekend.

05/09/05           The Phillies improved to 5-0 with a 14-7 victory over the Cubs.

05/02/05           The Phillies took their fourth straight game tonight, 10-5 over the Braves.

05/01/05           Our game with the Braves is tentatively rescheduled for May 8th at 5:30 at Bishop. Pictures will be at Buck Field at 2:25, and will be held inside the skating rink if it is raining.

04/28/05           The Phillies narrowly escaped with a 11-10 win over the Giants in a nail biter.

04/25/05           The Phillies improved to 2-0 on the season with a 19-3 win over the Brewers.

04/24/05           I've added a new feature to the web site that I will try to maintain nightly. New Pages showing the AAA Standings, and AAA Scores have been added.

04/23/05           The Phillies kicked off 2005 with a 16-3 victory over the River Cats. Full stats and a summary can be found on the Schedule & Summaries Page. Pictures have been added.

04/21/05           The Phillies played the Storm at Buzzell II tonight. In the first inning, Adam Grill led off with a triple and scored on a single by Matt Wah. Niko Stavropoulos doubled scoring Wah. Peter Girard's double scored Stavropoulos giving the Phillies the lead 3-0. Still in the first, with two down, Misha Lavrentyev singled, scoring Girard. Jackson Miller's two run home run gave the Phillies the 6-0 lead. J.T. Nichols doubled, but was stranded at second. In the second inning, the Phillies continued to pour it on. Matt Kapilian led off the inning with a home run. Wah and Stavropoulos each singled. Girard's triple scored two. Ryan Breen's single scored Girard from third. Lavrentyev drew a walk and Miller singled. Nichols sacrificed in a run, With two out, Kapilian drew a walk to load the bases. Lavrentyev stole home and Wah's triple scored two more. Stavropoulos doubled, scoring Wah. When the dust settled, the Phillies had scored nine times in the inning, and led 15-0. In the bottom of the third, Lukas Stavropoulos, Miller, and Grill each drew walks, but the Phillies didn't score. The Storm scored four in the top of the fourth. In the bottom of the inning, the Phillies got those back and then some. Wah singled, and walks by Niko Stavropoulos, Peter Girard, and Lukas Stavropoulos scored another run. Niko Stavropoulos and Girard each stole home. Lavrentyev drew a walk. Lukas Stavropoulos stole home. Nichols' single scored Lavrentyev. Kapilian's two run home run made the score 22-4. The Storm got back three in the top of the fifth, but could do no more as the Phillies took the game in convincing fashion by a score of 22-7.

04/19/05           We would like all the Phillies to be at Buzzell by 8:30 for opening day on Saturday, this will give us enough time to take pictures for the web site. Sometime I will be passing out picture envelopes for league pictures. Picture day will be May 1st. Please don't lose the envelopes, as I don't have any extras.

04/12/05           The weather forecast for 4/13 is very cold. We are going to shorten practice. Practice will be from 5:00-6:30.

04/10/05           The Phillies played another impromptu scrimmage with the Sidewinders today. After losing in a close game yesterday, the Phillies came back strong, winning the abbreviated game by a score of 9-3.

04/09/05           The Phillies played an impromptu scrimmage with the Sidewinders today. They played very well. The full game schedule is now available. The Practice scheduled for 4/14 has been canceled due to a school event at Stratton School.

04/07/05           Practice will be, as scheduled, at Buzzell II from 5:00-7:30.

04/05/05           Fields are closed. Our practice for today, Tuesday, April 5th will be changed to Stratton from 5:00-6:00pm. I do not know if fields will be open for our Thursday or weekend practices. Please check the web site early Thursday afternoon, I will post a note one way or the other. If fields are closed on Thursday, we will move to Stratton. I will make a decision Friday afternoon about the weekend.

04/01/05           The practice schedule is in! We will be able to have our first practice on a field on Tuesday. Please see the "Schedule & Summaries" page for the complete practice schedule. We may have scrimmages at the practices on 4/19 and 4/21. At this time, we still do not have a game schedule.

03/30/05           The Phillies have added a practice to their schedule for Thursday, March 31st, 5:00-6:00pm at Stratton School.
